  • Hearing Eugene speak in Aspen, Colorado, some 18 years ago is what inspired me to seek out Waldorf Education for my children. My two oldest are thriving in college after their K-12 experience at a Steiner school; my youngest is a bright, happy 7th grader starting his 12th year at the same school. I couldn't be happier with the decision to "hold them back" and let them grow naturally. They each have become serious scholars, fluent in three languages, several instruments, and yes, reading.

  • Like it or not...support Waldorf or not...everytime you read texts about Waldorf with concentration and stillness you come away blow away by how amazing it is...AGAIN! I have studied in the US and Sweden and I haven't found any system with this profundity!

  • I have found this method healing and speaking deeply to the soul. Most people now days mainstream don't feel deeply.

  • Well, I think this method is inspiring. There is a spiritual feel that I would have fled from as a charismatic christian, so i get the bashing. However, I am not pentecostal anymore, and it seems to me the approach is acknowledging the spirit in the child. I am going to use this as a homeschool method. I believe introducing a these ideas, but having the ability to temper the info w/ our values... think the method is good, and will use it

  • It was good discussing with you cktuja- sorry you are leaving- I'd be interested to hear your views on the lack of willing availibility Steiner Waldorf shows towards anthroposophy.

  • We realised quite late into our time at Steiner school. The schools don't advertise their spiritual science, reincarnation core- their promotional material is all very much like Eugene Swchartz's film here- does it mention anthroposophy? No. They make a point of NOT mentioning it don't they? So they can get on with their main "sacred task"- to mould and fill the empty vessels of children towards reincarnation.

  • I did reply- I support an open ,liberal arts based education system- where kids can discuss, have opinions, be creative, and have individual freedom, and are respected by their teachers- luckily- having realised Steiner Waldorf provides the opposite to this- we have found an excellent school for our kids.

  • My ethnic backgroung is English/French- I'm proud of it- not remotely insecure. The Steiner Waldorf promoters must feel insecure to hide their real agenda behind something it isn't.For want of repeating myself Why don't they speak openly about their spiritual science- Steiner called people from these mythical lands "root races"- advocates teaching myth as history..I have read alot of Steiner-have you?

  • Anyway, label me as you may, I am open-minded and asked you what educational system you support. I am guessing that you don't support any, just oppose Waldorf.

  • I realized that I am the only one responding to you and this is the last time I'll waste my time. I never said any "belief system" wasn't religious, did I? Do you even know what Lemurian, Atlantean or Aryan "races" are? My guess is that you are insecure with your ethnic background and so you constantly feel that everyone who is not "like" you is attacking you. I empathize with you.
