In America seemed like all the debate is about whether or not to allow citizens to carry guns. In Asia where I grew up in the 1960s it was a different culture. We had a large extended family on both sides so cousins were playmates even without 1 close friend in school. The daily routine of homework & tutoring was the norm. The school curriculum was so focused on academics that it'd be lucky if we had even 1h / week playing video games after watching TV. We'd imitate classmates with all "A"s.

First off I'm not a republican. Not all gun rights advocates are republicans. LOL... your watch? Anyway, I never said anything about arming teachers, but I think that teachers that have their own guns, and are properly trained and certified should be allowed to carry concealed in schools, as anywhere else. Guns are tools not toys. You're right that they're not the solution to heated situations, but they can be the solution to life threatening situations.

You repubs aren't going to arm our teachers under my watch. Grow up, your toys are not the solution to heated situations.

What we need is to eliminate the gun free zones that the vast majority of mass murderers are done in. We need to allow teachers, school staff, and mature college students, who have the training and are willing to conceal carry guns to do so. And we need to increase detection and treatment for people with Mental Health issues. Also we need to investigate the affects SSRI drugs have in increasing violence and suicides.

We have many out of work Veterans that would be great guards in our schools.
