@GeorgeASFTHM Yes, that is right of course.
Night Network was made by LWT and shown in its area as well as Anglia and TVS from August 1987 to August 1988. From September 1988 to its end in March 1989, it was also shown in all other ITV areas apart, oddly, from Central who did not take it at all.
That is why those of you living in the Midlands had to have a very powerful aerial indeed!

Yes, the so-called Night "Network" [sic], the programme where you needed a very powerful aerial and a signal booster to watch it if you were unfortunate to live in the Midlands... The name was a contradiction in terms methinks...

I just love CNN International - The reporting, things like Back Story, The Worlds Untold Stories and I Report are fantastic.. in my view.. The Worlds Untold Stories really does show the alarming things that are happening today across the globe

notice how back in da day, the itn news ident actually MEANT something? there was a sense of urgency in the few chords and the big-ass itn logo. nowadays when the news comes on its like somebody farted. am i right or am i just romanticising in retrospect?

Only LWT and Central idents from the 80s still look 'modern' today, IMO. I always loved that LWT one.
