Please note that my selection of these "Romantic Songs" are based ONLY on the melody, since I do not know the languages, Hindi and Urdu. Some of these songs may not be THAT romantic but they are HAPPY/SAD [Something to do WITH romance! LOL] songs, according to the melody and picturisation, I believe!

"Kohinoor" is a 1960 Indian Hindi film produced by Dr V. N. Sinha and directed by S U Sunny.

The film stars Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Leela Chitnis and Tun Tun. The films music is by Naushad.
Lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni.

It is said that Dilip Kumar went into depression after playing tragic roles in films such as Devdas and his psychiatrist recommended to do light roles.

One such role that he took up was Kohinoor. Kohinoor gad Dilip Kumar and Meena Kumari play a prince and princess of different kingdoms and was full of sword fights, songs and dances. Its tone was light and it lacked the intense characterizations of his earlier films.

The film included the very melodious songs 'Madhuban mein Radhika Nache Re' and 'Do Sitaron Ka Zameen Par Hai Milan Aaj Ki Raat'.

Soundtrack;

The well acclaimed soundtrack for the movie was composed by Naushad and lyrics penned by Shakeel Badayuni. The soundtrack became a cult favourite among music lovers for its soul stirring music compositions. The soundtrack consists of 10 songs, featuring vocals by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The best known song in the soundtrack is Madhuban Mein Radhika Nache Re, a classical dance song, composed on rāga Hamir and sung by Mohammed Rafi.

"Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke" [1963] is an Indian Hindi film directed by R.K. Nayyar.
Starring Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Leela Naidu, Motilal and Shashikala.
Music is by Ravi.
Lyrics by Rajendra Krishan (as Rajender Krishan).

This film ["Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke"] was based on the true story of "K. M. Nanavati vs. State of Maharashtra", a 1959 Indian court case where Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati, a Naval Commander was tried for the murder of Prem Ahuja, his wife's lover.", according to Wikipedia.
However The film began with a "disclaimer" saying that all people and incidents were fictitious, and altered the case's outcome!........


"Woh Din Yaad Karo" [1971] is an Indian Hindi film directed by K. Amarnath.
Starring Nanda, Sanjay Khan, Shashikala, Mehmood and Tun Tun.
Music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
Lyrics by Anand Bakshi.........

  • It is always a great pleasure to watch Kum Kum dancing. She brings out all female femininty in her dancing. A beautiful woman on all standards. As always Dilip is fabulous.
