January 2011 - Winning submission for Animateclay.com 's monthly challenge.
Theme - 'Lose Weight'
Music: 'Alchemists Tower' by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
Licensed under Creative Commons "Attribution 3.0" http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
This was filmed with a Lumix DMC-FZ50. It's a great camera that does practically everything I'd want it to. I was able to find a used one on eBay and would highly recommend it to others looking for a (somewhat) affordable option.
The white background was from it being filmed in a light tent. I had built one about a year ago when I wanted a extremely soft (or no) shadows for the Easter piece. I've enjoyed the look so much, I've since used it in the mock commercial and again here in Vanity.
This piece was shot and plays at 15fps.
Thanks for all of the comments about the music, but that's Kevin MacLeod's fine work. He, and a few other musicians, have put a massive amount of amazing audio online for people to use and only request credit and an incredibly small donation for it.
Also, what was up with the cement package and other things?
I, um, have no clue what you're talking about. ;-)

  • as soon as it started I was wondering how he would lose all that weight. Haha, nice job! I like how you kept the background white.

  • Pretty cool! Congrats on winning the contest. The blood effects were great and the transition and choice of music were superb. May I ask, was this also done using your Lumix DMC-FZ50?
