1999 Mustang V6: Original Muffler vs Flowmaster Super 44 Muffler

I know Amazon says it doesn't fit, but it does. Check out the Super 40 with the same outlet/inlet size, which Amazon claims DOES fit.

Just finished installing a Flowmaster Super 44 on my car... A note regarding the sound, the original muffler was recorded using an iPhone 3GS and the second video was recorded using a Vado HD, so the video isn't balanced volume wise. The Super 44 is definitely deeper, a little more throaty and manages to give you a little more sound when you are idling. I really enjoyed installing the new muffler and it is a fun mod!

@123rustypipes you will be fine as long as it is welded well. make sure to hire a professional. and DONT use clamps

@abentley7 i got a 2000 v6 mustang and i dont like the way the end of the pipe slopes down to far if i cut it about 6 inches back and weld a strait pipe on .....and put a tip on it do u think it will hold up or fall off going down the raod

Is your mustang a single or dual exhaust? Because, i have a single and i want a muffler that can be loud and deep enough to sound like a dual exhaust

@foxpol hey man the demensions of the muffler are 2.25 in and 2.25 out. i found mine on ebay for about $70 bucks. best of luck with your stang!

@foxpol I can't remember what size it was... i want to say the inlet is 2.25 and the outlet is 2.25... try searching ebay though. I was able to find the right size. definitely weld it tho. the clamps are not legit. if you have any more questions let me know. when i get back from vacation i'll see if i have the box for the muffler so i can read you the specs of the one i got

@abentley7 The only problem I'm having with the Super 44 is, everywhere I've checked, including the flowmaster site, says that it won't fit my car. Did you have any problems with that? Or does it fit pretty well? I plan on welding it, my dad will absolutely not let me use the clamps lol.

@foxpol I went down the same path as you did... it took me months to find the right one... but the super 44 will produce the deepest growl a v6 can make... avoid the super 40 though. It sounds ricey on the v6
