  • @ianLP59 Orkney tuning is actually CGDGCD from 6 through to 1.

CGCGCD is usually referred to as Csus2 , or C modal tuning...

  • Best version-Al O'Donnell!This ain't bad,though.

  • Can anyone tell me how to find the tab for this lovely tune pleeeez

  • The 'Coyle' mentioned twice is my grand-uncle.

  • CGCGCD

  • @thewhitey360 The tuning is CGCGCD from 6 through to 1. Sometimes called Orkney tuning. Nic Jones used it a lot.

  • Even Leo Kotke might acknowledge Simpson as the premiere troubadour of our time.... but consider the similarity of the guitar accompaniment on Granemore Harewith John Renbourne's instrumental title cut on The Hermi. The debt (or perhaps, joy) these great artists share with each other for advancing tradition, appears obvious.

  • anyone know what tuning he's using?

  • best version is dick gaughans
