  • the one with the black spot on his face is cute, but is it rlly true that rats always pee (dribble) on everything they climb on because they dont have control of their bladders?

  • @DomSubmissiveKitty No it's not true. They can control their bladder but some rats marks their territory peeing a little :)

  • what a pretty agouti! Beautiful babies!

  • @LightningWolff Yeah, their tails are pretty cool actually. I would never say that to someone who didn't understand, however! LOL. People I know are grossed out by them. A couple of my friends are so afraid of rats they won't come in my house unless the cages are covered!! Guess they had bad experiences as kids. Too bad, they are missing out on wonderful pets.

  • @pearlschoice1988 all of my boys are trained to let people play with their tails. (pet them and that stuff, not pull on them and hold them by their tails, thats just wrong). their tails are one of the main reasons i love rats.

  • I have eight pet rats and I love them dearly. It's nice to see a video with happy, well cared for rats by a fellow rat lover. btw, you do get used to the tails. They are clean and dry and not icky at all. Rats need them to balance with and also to cool them in summer -- they do not perspire or pant.

  • How do they not run away?

  • @DomSubmissiveKitty Rats use both urine and excrement to mark their territory. Similar to how ants use pheromones to mark where they have been and for the next ant to find them. It seems rather gross, but it necessary for a community of rats to effectively work together.

  • @StarFoxAutobot Because rats stash food! They often take food from their bowl and eat it alone so the others don't try take it! My three girls all have their own wee spots they got to when they eat. It's just a behavioural thing :)

  • r they wild

  • How come the brown one just went over to the dish of food, grabs a small piece, then hides off in the corner with it?
