The Twenty Four Hour Theatrical Marathon's Teaser

AND STRAIGHT ON TILL MORNING!

Beginning on Saturday, January 22, until Sunday, January 23, a brave group of young thespians will be undertaking a monumental task: to perform the works of Shakespeare continuously for twenty-four hours. The work will be completely "pick-up," meaning that it will all be onbook, absolutely anyone can perform, who plays what character will be determined at the top of each scene, and what plays we do will be determined by what the people in the room want to see, hear, and do. We might be rescheduled slightly in the interest of not conflicting with the Theatre Department's General Auditions.

Why are we doing this?

In association with Midnight Cabaret, yoshi kuroi will be directing Peter Pan this spring. To raise money for the production costs (which include a royalty paid to The Great Ormond Street hospital for Children), we hope that you will sponsor an actor in this marathon theatrical performance. You can sponsor them by pledging a definitive monetary amount to be paid for each hour of performance they accomplish.

For example: if you pledge $0.50 per hour to an actor who performs for six hours, you will owe $3.00.


Or you can be a sponsored actor by obtaining a form and getting a sponsor to pledge money to your performance. Please turn in filled out forms to Shannon Lippert or yoshi kuroi.
