This is the first movie in the "Famous go games re-enacted"-series.

This movie is basically me and my friend turning the famous "Ear reddening game" into a ban go game (go for money). We tried to make it cool and informative, just like the Hikaru no Go anime, but in hindsight, this movie is quite corny. Hope you all will enjoy it anyway!

The game was originally played 1846 between:
Black: Honinbo Shusaku (4 dan)
White: Gennan Inseki (8 dan)
In this movie white resigns after the well-known "Ear reddening move", but the actual result was B+2.

i know there been a long time since i played GO but i don't understand how withed could have lost, White had a good amount of territory to the right and could still somewhat expand to the center to prevent black form taking the whole thing.

I hope that these kids didn't really take each other's money, considering that they already knew who won the game that they were re-enacting.

Also, Gennan Inseki didn't resign. He lost by two points (without the komi, which hadn't been invented yet). On the other hand, it was nice to hear some Japanese expressions such as "makemashita" and "arigatou gozaimashita."

One more thing: Don't kiss the money. You look like a slob when you do that.
