Myron Beasley, Assistant Professor of African American studies and American cultural studies at Bates College, left Haiti three days before the devastating Jan. 10, 2010 earthquake. "I think probably the most haunting thing for me was looking for people in places that no longer existed," Beasley said. In this brief clip, he describes the Haitian notion of death.
