After getting off a northbound Red Line train, I walk through one of the few remaining unrenovated Red Line subway stations, up the escalator and out to the street.

  • Do all CTA underground stations look like this? with the arch ceiling.

In Toronto our stations look like washrooms :(

  • No, the recently remodeled ones have a color scheme of blue-gray tile trimmed in red bullnose, with darker blue-gray tile added in to create a city-skyline effect. I've got three videos that show the new color scheme, including one in which I do the same kind of subway walk I do here.

  • They once all looked like this but most are being remodeled. This one could be next in a few years. It alway looked this was since it was first built in the 1950's. (I think it was the 1950's - posibly the 1940's)

  • This one was from 1943 (as are all the Red Line subway stations); the Blue Line downtown subway stations are from 1951); Logan Square and Belmont on the O'Hare portion of the Blue Line are from 1970.

  • The state street subway is built in on Saturday, December 17, 1938, and opened on October 16, 1943. the Milwaukee-Dearborn Subway is build in March 1939, but work on the Dearborn Subway is closed during World War II. Finally, in late 1945, work resumed on the subway, the Milwaukee-Dearborn Subway officially opened for revenue service after midnight on February 25, 1951

  • I like the Forest Park Station better than the Red Line stations!

  • This is my Favroite station!

  • i agree that the CTA is very out dated. There is no money for keep ups. I ride it everyday. I wish more people in Chicago would support the L train and stop driving. Chicago would be much nicer if people use this public transportation instead of their own cars.

  • It seriously feels like one of those cheap games and you need to battle your way through the subway. The background is perfect, the station seems dark and dingy, the train barely had a propulsion to hear.

All that's missing is some zombies and crowbars.
