That is not even close to Lucian's 'A True Story.' First off, the obvious, it was a work of prose, not poetry. Second, they did not simply go off the edge of the Earth, they knew it was round, they are transported there by a great storm that carries their boat into the air. Then, when they get to the Moon, they are greeted with hospitality and the king is Greek as well, who proceeds to make them officers in his army in the war against the Sun over Venus. Disney never tells these stories right.
I remember on Cosmos that the monks from an abbey had recorded seeing some kind of collision on the moon, it was in the later period of the Middle Ages so there was something recorded in between the ancient times and the Renaissance.
Could be. Remember, this was done in the '50s, Cosmos, in the '80s. (I just watched the 1st episode on Hulu!) Lots of stuff was discovered in between. 8-)
Ah! I deleted your comment, sorry! (I'll try to fill in) Yes, the reference to the moon occurred before the 50s-80s, way back in the Middle Ages. But I meant that was evidence that was DISCOVERED after the 50s (ie AFTER this film was made), before the 80s. Not that it didn't occur in the middle ages.
No, they put it in 'a bad light' as if they are against it, but the cig companies realized even shown in a bad light, they were still encouraging kids to smoke by showing it! Its a shame.
