Replaced the Idle Stabilizer Valve and the transistors which power it on the DME, but now I have a hunting idle. I also don't believe that the ISV Is actually getting any power. Nothing changes when I pull the plug on it. All multimeter tests have come back inconclusive.

  • A faulty ECU is all you need! I thought it was something to do with idle control.

  • @1100HondaCB It's been good since January, holding idle! I have the spare ECU just in case the one I have goes dead, which, with my luck, will happen.

  • Have you found a reslove yet?

  • @HeliFlightRCU

The issue was that the ECU (computer) of the car had some blown transistors. The Idle Stabilizer Valve was not turning on, and was stuck in an 'open' position letting too much air in. We swapped transistors on the ECU but no go. I replaced the ECU completely with a used one from another car. ISV powers up, and idle is now stable!

  • @theexitwound Good to hear you got it fixed and to a fellow 944 lover, cheers!

  • @theexitwound German stuff in general is pretty robust and shouldn't give any untoward problems.
