Yes, I bet the luggage racks started full but ended up empty and on top of passengers heads!
My mate had a camper van once and I remember he took a corner a bit fast and I felt awful for laughing when all the pots and pans fell on his head! boing boing, bang clang!

Well, when U know your car and have quite wide axles and tyres,its no problem to know its limitations.
Its quite heavy as well, so there was no danger of not reaching the bottom to avoid floating :-)
