Back in 1990 there was a campaign to push for a 10% NZ music quota on mainstream radio. Even the MP's at the time got in behind it, whether it came to fruition I'm not really sure.
There was a weekend at the James Cabaret in Wellington, "Rock The Quota" to showcase some of New Zealands top bands at the time. The Clean, The Bats & Tall Dwarfs were representing the Flying Nun stable.

I was at uni, dropped out, made a drum kit out of cardboard boxes turned the record player up loud and played along with Clean records....
