Here's Regina Spektor performing at Irving Plaza, NYC on March 23, 2010. It's a benefit concert for the Haiti Relief Fund by Doctors Without Borders.

Watching Regina Perform at a smaller venue as opposed to her three most recent concerts in the city (Beacon Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, and Carnegie Hall) is kind of a treat. Her performance tonight was held at an intimate venue, with of course, a sold-out crowd, where she seemed more relaxed and interacted quite enthusiastically with. She did a stellar job at showcasing her superb vocals, and of course, being the master of the grand piano.

Regina's one of those musicians who can get away with anything because of her charm. Forgetting the lyrics and cursing the hell out of it almost always makes me want it to happen in at least one song for every concert. Haha.

She did a beautiful cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. I'm glad the crowd went silent, otherwise I would been able to cut a b**ch that dared shout. Kidding. Okay. Not. It was a very heartfelt performance and you could see her pour every inch of herself in that song.

There were three special guests who are respectively talented in their genre as well. They were Nicole Atkins, Only Son (Jack Dishel), and Shara Warden. Normally, I wouldn't be thrilled that somebody else will take time off of Regina's performance, but no one in that room can deny the powerful performances these special guests gave. Their vocals blew me away. Really.

Anyway, enough blabbing. Here's the set list:

  • I can't believe she did this song live. I was wondering if she would for months.

    Amazing.

  • @curtainpower She's only done it twice. This is her second time. I love that she's starting to do it. It's great.

  • She is amazing... The song too.

  • very sweet voice...love this song and the message

  • @IAmIronMant i agree; but maybe it's just the camera picking up the bass frequencies more? most camera's are guilty of this, and i'm sure that the sound techies controlling the levels are worth their salt :)

at least, this is what i want to believe ;)

  • Cello-guy's turned up a bit too loud, he butts in and interferes with her vocals.

  • She is th perfect girl

  • Ellie Goulding should make a cover of this!

  • @macron12388 -- She's only 30.

  • This songs makes me think of Narnia. *sighs pathetically* But this is a great song, she's got a great voice.
