@T1M3T0SH1N3 not really, suicide happens everyday and just cause its not on the news doesnt make it any less important, yes elephant was good, but 2:37 shows the everyday life of a teen and how, one little thing can change someones life,,,

@fuckyourselfalone depends on what u were looking for if u wanted a movie basied on a tragic moment in history ( columbine high school=elephant) or something that happens everyday yet we're to blind to notice other's problems and only on our own, not realizing people go through it..whether we see it or not,, =2:37 everyone has a perspective,,,

@T1M3T0SH1N3 Well 2:37 is also based on a true story but its just not that popular, well im not sure about this but the story goes that the director had a friend named kelly. She had problems at school and comitted suicide. But anyway I liked more 2:37 because it centers a hell lot more with the students and their problems and the ending is kinda sad. In elephant the movie has 80 minutes of walking and the last 10 minutes of bad acting and fake shooting. But hey its just my opinion

I'm ending it right here. Elephant is based on the Columbine High school massacre and 2:37 isn't even really based on anything but some guys mind. Elephant was real and 2:37 was just showing a teenage suicide that seems to be happening in the school. A movie like this needs to be based on something that actually happened and reveals more meaning to what actually happened and not just be copied for anyone to use.

Wow, you did a great job making this :) I've got to say there ARE a lot of similarities between the two films, in terms of how it was shot and the repeated sequences especially. The viewing experience I had totally differed between the two films though. I found Elephant had this searing, unbearable intensity about it, which I actually found terrifying, even when there was nothing visually scary on screen. In comparison, 2:37 seemed much more relaxed to me but the story fit together much better.
elephant is like one of the best movies ever

2:37 is better, in my opinion. Also, Elephant has too much.....walking.
