I really want to like this song. Does the dry lake refer to there being no need for hesitation, because time doesn't stop, or is it mainly used for the rhyme?

I didn't pick up on the Uptown Girl similarity that others have commented on. But I think the verses show a distinct Josh Pyke influence (which perhaps may also go the other way). They're nicely conversational and honest, but at the same time somewhat incoherent.

The clip itself is fantastic. Great story, acting, and a bit of weirdness.

I find the video a bit bizarre; I don't understand the symbolism at all. I do however like the song. CBC radio was playing it so often as I woke up, I had to find it for myself. I can't put my finger on it, but I like it and I am more into suicide commando, ICP, heavy metal bands and harder music. This one makes me feel something different... like remembering junior high and pure innocence.
