I agree with the torch test yes not lit, if there's a intake or hose leak the idle will change due to getting the propane sucked in then you know exactly where to start before buying part after part. It could be your IAC, TPS, MAF sensor the way to test this theory is unplug the MAF if it changes not that, same for TPS it should make it rev way up when unplugged if not that's prob your issue. Your idle air control is stuck or when you painted all that red you took off the intake gaskets and now you have an air leak in the intake manifold. Best way to troubleshoot this is propane torch unlite around the intake tell the idle stablizes or else clean your your idle air control to be sure its working.
