@calvintoronto Do you really need a move-by-move instruction? LOL. Haven't you watched Daisuke Takahashi's La Strada? That amazing slss? Oreg Vasiliev was crying in the audience while watching it. He is the true artist.
I also strongly recommend you to watch Stephane Lambiel's Poeta (flamenco) FS from the 2007 Worlds. The last slss and spins are mind-blowing.

Happy to illuminate it for you. Look at the first 90 seonds of the program, from 1:02 onward. Pointless arm/hand gestures that have all the subtlety of Dancing With the Stars. Then an incredibly long glide into a (beautiful) quad. Then unconvincingly arm flailing and pointing and flapping. Another jump. More aimless wandering and funny movements (that arm waving at 2:04) until the 3rd jump (which he barely holds). A little run, a failed jump, into a lifeless spin. That's why.

You were doing fine until you wrote about Chan "superficial artistry." LOL. That's hilarious. I DARE you to find a skater who can top the final 40 seconds of Chan's FS. And, no, not just names. I want a move-by-move breakdown of why you think this is "superficial." Then go back to your armchair and open your eyes.

@soul416 I really don't think that the fact that someone likes Plushenko makes him/her moronic. And believe me - I know something about figure skating. By the way - Brian's program was great despite this fall on Lutz. At last - some manly skating! I feel almost like in ancient times when watching this. Noone skates like that anymore which is a big pity.

Robbing? I don't see any robbing at all.. Brian made many mistakes in this program too, his jump were not clean and fell once.. Patrick's footwork, transition and jumping were better.. Everything needs to be taken into consideration... For as much as I like them both.. I have to say Patrick was better skating...

Brian is a FIGHTER!! definitely should have been placed second, although I even heard some voices (from tv commentators) that he didn't even deserve the bronze. I mean, wtf? are people really this blind or limited?
So glad he hasn't ended his career yet. Good to have him out there, one of the last real men on ice. I hate the new system, it's killing powerfull skating in honour to make everything more countable - but therefore boring.

I'm a Takahashi fan, and don't understand why Joubert didn't get the Silver. Chan's FS was mess and filled with superficial artistry while Joubert's had amazing jumps was filled with passion. This judging system is really screwed!
so is this worlds the event of robbing?
Mukhortova-Trankov, Brian and some ice dancers who were underscored.
I can't understand how could the judges ignore his quad-triple combination in his short, and after that they overscored Chan.
But I'm happy Brian is back, it's a great comeback!

I didn't realize that Brian was robbed, not until after watching Chan's FS. Amazing! no quad, wobbly landings, not clean at all(falling twice too), and still could get away with higher scores. Brian was apparently better despite the falls, with 2 quads and much more passionate and powerful presentation. Don't know what the judges were doing at the moment, probably dozing off. Brian, keep going and don't give up! You are the best!
