Odissi and Kathak shine here, with Kuchipudi following closely. Jugalbandis are great when all the artists involved are of comparable caliber. Sanjukta Panigrahi is a genius and Saswati Sen is B. Maharajji's star, so it's hard to match up to them. My guess is that the Bharatanatyam dancer is Viji Prakash, mother of Mythili, but I could be wrong.

@gaurinayaka The Bharatanatyam dance is Vani Ganapathy.

Personally, I never like these jugalbandhis of different styles. Each classical style has it's own merits and a bhava that is particular to that dance form. Usually it is the Kathak dancer who comes accross as the most dynamic. It is really a case of comparing apples and oranges.

i believe the kuchipudi dancer is AB Bala Kondala Rao (esp. if this video is from the early 80s?) She taught at Vempati Chinna Satyam's Kuchipudi Art Academy (Chennai) for many years and is a v talented dancer.

Till end of the performance I was waiting for them to have last 2 minutes synchronized dance to indicate Unity in /diverse/different forms of Classical dance!

Dance and music is one of the effective ways to show our unity in diversity.
