Kitty the chocolate Lab available for adoption

KITTY: 7-8 Years Old, Spayed Female, Chocolate Lab, 79 lbs

Yes, her owners had a sense of humor, but dogs quickly learn new names if you want to change hers ;) Or you might agree that "Miss Kitty, so pretty" is a phrase that fits her perfectly! Kitty is a lovely, friendly, easy going girl who needs a new home. She was adopted by a loving family three years ago. She loved her new dad, 4 kids and the cats. Then tragedy struck, the dad had a massive stoke, the family lost their home and then the dad passed away. Luckily for Kitty, a very nice neighbor stepped up and said that they would take her until things settled down and the family could find Kitty a new home. That is when Golden Gate Lab Rescue came in to help.

After meeting this sweet dog, we knew we could find her a wonderful new family to call her own. She was in a home with kids from the age of 10 to 20 and was later in a home with kids that are 3 and 4. She is wonderful with kids of any age. She is housebroken and will go outside to do her business, and knows basic commands like sit and down. Right now Kitty is in a foster home, where she has started her diet and exercise program and lost over 10 lbs already -- she is still overweight and needs someone who will stick with her plan! Unfortunately her weight has caused her to have arthritis, which can be managed with medications/supplements. She gets along well with other dogs and cats (foster has 3 dogs). She enjoys slow walks and walks well on a leash especially with a halti / gentle leader style halter and will regularly look up to check on her person. Kitty is the happiest, sweetest dog and just a big cuddle-bug. All she wants is a home where she will be loved, get lots of tummy rubs and a few short walks a day. Kitty is located in Saratoga.
