Here is the early Roundhouse Fowler again - this time hauling timber, coal and Portland stone at the Holt Wood Light Railway. The sound has not been enhanced in any way and the video is played at normal speed. Thanks, as always to Roy who was driving while I rushed about filming!

  • That really sounds so nice! Like the real thing!

  • @TechnicusJoe - Many thanks for the comment and I have to say that the Fowler is a great favourite of mine. The chimney is just the right shape for a great Chuff!

    Cheers

  • Great video as usual. Could you recommend a starter steam engine for g scale? Our Railway has no power, so far only battery power.

  • Thanks - and that is a huge question! It depends on your budget and what you like. Accucraft Edrig or Caradoc are excellent - or their US Mogul is a fine big loco. Roundhouse are also excellent and their basic locos are great to start with - but not R/C. Beware secondhand "bargains".

    Good luck

    Chris

  • Lovely and nice to see a loco with a really heavy load travelling at scale speeds!

  • Thanks and yes - this R/C loco has opened up another level of enjoyment for me - I'm a convert!
