This is My Father's Land

This is a very brief video of the American flag fluttering in the wind on February 29, 2008. I was thinking about a little girl who asked me why we say the Pledge of Allegiance every day in school. This is part of my answer. The rest I'll have to write.

Quite right. You must forgive me, it was something of a provocation on my part. I took you as being something of a fanatic, a perhaps forgot that Americans do have something of an affection for their flag that isn't necessarily nationalism.

When I look at this flag, I see a symbol of a complex people and place that is far from perfect. But I also know goodness and beauty. This particular flag is near my home and was erected as a 9/11 memorial. I'm glad for your feedback and for your coming back!

Thanks for saying so. I stood and watched her fly the day after a young girl asked me why sh has to say the Pledge every day in school. So many reasons rushed to my mind. Such a beautiful story this child had yet to learn.

Great song. A Battle Flag would be better. It has the cross of St. Thomas and coincided with the great Southern revival that the invasion brought....a coming back to Christ that has shaped this nation, blessed it, and indelibly marked us all (as Christians). And, it too, is an AMERICAN flag!

IM proud to be american. I am kinda mad though, because i have seen many comments on youtube that say americans are bad(Including videos). this is because we have wars and dropped nukes on Japan, witch makes people hate us. My point is I hate war and bombs, it all should just disapear. I didnt decide to make nukes.some people act like i do, but otherwise i loove the video. 5/5
