We were using a new engine for the vortex experiments, and used a new light source. First we noticed how clearly the multiple layers showed this time, and... am I seeing rainbow colors in the vortex? Yes, cool!

  • Thats really impressive if that were full size twister that would have like 400 mph. Love the layers and the colors. My vortex machine has a light in the bottom that has a colored disk that rotates making the twister change color.

  • The new engine seems to create a more stable and long vortex tube. And the new light source gives a much better look at the inside of the tornado. All kinds of ideas come to mind about how to widen the base of the tornado....maybe by widening the fan hole spacing....and narrowing the top of the tornado....then putting a long cone in the middle of the spinning air. This should produce a lifting force on the cone, especially if it has a rough surface that the air flows over as it spins upward.

  • it looks like a jet exhaust for a moment, great someone is working on this research altough i believe tornadoes are such an abstract & unstable force wich is not worth the research..... but as dinamic art they would come cool
