Just me throwing a little bit at practice. Mind you I work 830 to 530 every day and only get to throw twice a week with no supervision, this video is the only feedback I've gotten in the past 2 months or so. Any and all advice/criticism is greatly appreciated.

  • absolutely man, that's exactly what i mean. it's easier to work on training a new, mutually exclusive, habit than to break a bad one. looks like you've been throwing at a high level for a long time. best of luck as you continue to move forward. look forward to seeing some more throws next year

  • @MAdamThielemann Awesome, I'll be sure to work on that for next year, as well as getting my right leg out more and sitting on my left more. I managed to throw 51.66m this year and made it to the 1st round of nationals, I'll try to put some more videos up and thanks for all the kind words!

  • Just saw this video of you throwing. You look great out of the back of the ring, right foot accelerates well, left shoulder is accelerating along with the discus. Where I think you're losing a lot of power is in your finish. It looks like the left shoulder acceleration is preventing the chest from exploding up & the disc from extending further to the right. You can work on bringing the chest to the sector or pretend you're pushing the disc out while that foot turns underneath you.

  • @MAdamThielemann Hey thanks for the comment, this video is from a while ago but I still have the problem with pulling my left shoulder too much at the finish. You can't tell too much from this angle but I'm using my left arm not so much to block as to initiate the stretch reflex with my chest, which I know is incorrect. When you say "pushing the disc out" do you mean out to 9 oclock in an attempt to lengthen my effective radius and solidity my block leg/arm more?
