I shot this in the very rear of the theater and really thought all was lost due to my miserable seat. But, my new Sigma 18-200 3.5 OS lens did better than I had expected. Yes, there's "noise" but, I did manage to "capture the moment". I shot this with a Canon Digital Rebel XT

  • Christine will be performing "Great Dames" in London at the Jermyn Street Theatre from June 2 to 21 2009.

  • Sal, I like what you are doing. You have a good eye for photography. Still pics from the back of a theatre is not easy. I do Video ( not permited on most )and that's easyer... You mentioned your lens but not your camera... I have an El Shippo Fuji S602Z that I used for the past 7 or so years. I like it, good enough for my amateur projects. Not too good for extreme close up like you do. I ask you previously: What softwere are you using for your videos/stills editing? CU.

  • NYFrenchman: Sorry I took so long to answer your question.

I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel XT with the Sigma 18-200 lens. My software is from my Apple computer called "iMovie".

My editing stuff is really basic and not that involved, so using a little imagination here goes a long way, I hope!..

I'm always looking for any excuse to create another "slideshow". But, picking the RIGHT music is a total bitch!.

I've got over 5,000 song tracks in my library and they're really not enough!. Regards,Sal .

  • I was sitting in the very back of this theater, against the wall. I knew that taking these shots was going to be difficult. Luckily, my camera lens had "Optical Stabilization" which did help me.

And, to my surprise, the zoom shots at 200mm came out much better than I had anticipated.
