what I would do to increase functionality, is buy/pillage some 3rd gen FLIR goggles and rewire it to be hyperspectral (all light frequencys graphed as colour/contrast) and put it in these (the video...)
problem is 3rd gen and I think 2nd gen are military and government only, i've heard storys that even photographic teachers have been denied the technology. therefore you can't really do much if you wanted to...
