Yes but at one point they went down that path. I never said it would completely destroy a country. Imperialism is self detructive at some time or another a country will have to stop or be destroyed. You are right that the former imperialist countries now oppose it they do that because they know how bad it can turn out to be so they try to prevent it before it happens

The USA is still around. We're just not Imperialistic. Other countries in Europe were much more Imperialistic, but they are here to this day. Imperialism isn't self destructive, but it does give your country a bad rep for being tyrannical. All the countries that have practiced imperialism are now against such methods.

I like how this story has unfolded its sort of like American history. How the country fought solely for their independence but they later followed the same self-destructive path of Imperialism
