  • 1st video that had completely gave step by step instructions, that actually work. I completed my 1st full spool with out cursing, and felt I was in control of my spinning wheel, very relaxing, and the spinning went so quickly. I have a single drive wheel the Hitchhiker.

When will you make a full DVD.

  • Hi, I am glad the video helped, I have been thinking about a full one for some time, but finding the time is part of the problem, I am also looking for some editing software that is easy to use. The one I was using doesn't work with our new operating system so will have to look into others.

Will let folks know when it is available though!

  • I have a small problem ,the big wheel and small wheel dont line up.When i try to spin the drive string falls off. Thanks nelson.

  • What kind of wheel do you have? if it is an Ashford you should be able to move the base plate that holds the flyer, if not and there is no way of moving the flyer attachment in line then a stretch drive band should solve the problem. If you contact yopur local wheel supplier many of them sell it by the metre, is it also a single or double drive wheel?

  • Sue, this is the most helpful video on how t get started I have found on the web! I especially liked the hints about learning how to control the wheel with the feet and also hoe to tell if the tension is ok. I cant believe how much my spinning improved after watching this (Still lumpy and not so consistent but getting better every day) Thanks! And looking forward to looking at your other videos.

  • I am glad you have found my videos useful, I am hoping to do a full length DVD for sale after the winter, but my editing software has been changed so need to re learn another!!!

  • Wow, this lady knows what she is talking about. This is an art! Wow. Excellent.

  • Wonderfully concise and full of good information. The best, and quickest explanation of how to set the tension that I've ever heard. Thank you.

  • Thanks to you Sue I've gotten past the first "road block". Smooooth treddling. The fishing weights, (I am a fisherwoman too, mostly Walleye), helped in the beginning a lot. ! tied 2 good size lead weights onto one of the wheel spokes. I also started feeding on already spun cheap trash yarn to help me get all things working together with out having to card my arms off. Another day of practice and I'll be working with roving. You are a GREAT teacher. No book would have been as good. THANK YOU !!

  • I love how you go through all the things that can go wrong and what they mean (can't pull the lead out again, too much tension etc). That is really invaluable information for those of us without a teacher nearby!

  • I am getting my first spinning wheel in a few days and your WONDERFUL videos are going to be my "teacher" . I can't thank you enough for making them and placing them here so that even all the way "across the pond" people like me can learn from

an expert. I too LOVE the little tricks you share with us that will make us great spinners.

    Thank You so much,

Hugs all the way from North Minneota USA !!

  • Sue, this is all really great information. I really appreciate learning your treadling tip-thanks! I purchased a Wendy Pipy spinning wheel yesterday at an auction- now I want to learn how all about it. Could you suggest sources of information for me? Any information specific to my wheel's operation would be welcome!

    Thank you!
