Trying to keep my temper down after a long day of riding and having to ride through traffic. This is the last video in the series. Sorry for the long delay, but I've been busy during the holidays.

  • I live in Orange County just bought a vfr800. The question I had for you was, are you allowed to go over the double yellow lines doing that. I am pretty sure you are not.

  • I believe they encourage you to use the section to the right of the leftmost lane. Given that the double yellow lines are not meant to be crossed, they SHOULD tell you go there since cars are not supposed to cross and that is the safest place for a motorcycle. But the law doesn't always follow common sense.

  • Dude is that legal?

  • Yes. Lane splitting is legal in California.

  • i've almost been hit twice by two dumb ass' getting out of the carpool over double yellow and one that actually side swiped me... is it okay to ride with your brights on when lane splitting? i've been thinking of doing it but i havent because i figure it might annoy people

  • I live in Portland, Oregon, and have traveled several miles of southern California. Line splitting is legal in California. Its illegal in washington and Oregon, but keep in mind the freeway lanes are two feet wider in California than Oregon and Washington. Freeways were built to with that in mind, that's why it's legal.

  • Returning to cali from washington (where I live now) all smooth sailing untill we reached a sign that said welcome to southern california and the traffic stopped right there. No joke.

  • @twmals I know, I clicked reply on you by accident. I meant to reply to locosway but I didn't notice in time that I was replying to you, my bad.

  • @loganator01 I think you miss understood what i said. I was says lane splitting IS LEGAL and i said NOTHING about high beams read it again. thanks

  • @loganator01 Then you obviously don't follow California legislation. They're always passing laws when people get upset. Have you seen the new exhaust requirements for motorcycles?

  • @locosway no people aren't getting pissed off in fact most will probably be like "OH I didn't even see that bike good thing he had brights on" this guy has been driving for a LONG time he knows what he is doing

  • @loganator01 I live in CA, I know about the laws here. Lane splitting is legal, but riding at night with your brights on is NOT. If you start blinding people you just piss them off. If you're worried about people cutting you off then perhaps you should slow down while splitting. Oh, and riding the double yellow and going in and out of the lane is NOT splitting, that's actually illegal.

  • @locosway Bikers turn on their brights for safety. Brights make it easier to see bikes among the sea of dimmer car lights so someone won't cut you off. and lane splitting is legal in CA. Apparently you don't know anything about riding a bike.
