I'm starting work on a character for a short animation called "Melton's Big Game." This is being produced and directed by Brad Krause, and is based on a comic by Richard Corben from 1972.

The music in this video is by Antony Raijekov, from the album Jazz U, http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/3777

  • Love your tutorial, but you went too fast, especially when you joing the points etc, and etc. please redo and explain how you join, how you mirror to get us started.

  • is this a repost?

  • What a cool method.

  • How do Blender's new sculpting tools compare with Zbrush? Can you bake the Zbrush detail onto a bump map?

  • Character modeling has always seemed daunting to me, but now I have a vague idea of how it's done. I might as well give it a shot now!

  • i WOULD LOVE TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE A HEAD YOUR WAY.. BUT YOU DO IT KINDA FAST ... COULD YOU EXPLAIN YOUT WAY OF DOING IT.. I AM VERRY NEW TO BLENDER

  • really nice. when i model a head i usually start with a cube but, this seems a lot easier and it seems it give you more control. thanks.

  • Very Interesting... Makes me wonder if using Nurbs Curves to do what your doing there at first then converting them to Mesh at some point would work any better ... just a thought

  • Nice i like the way you work iam going to follow up on this and you should keep on this cause it looks like it would be a cool gamr

  • wow, this is definitely a unique was to model. btw you need the edge flow to go into the ears, even though the ears dont move, it will save you a lot of time if you need to direct more geometry to the ears
