Windows 8 is the codename for the next version of Microsoft Windows, a number of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including desktops of homes and businesses, laptops, notebooks, Tablet PC and Media PC Center.

The main feature shown is extensively redesigned user interface. The Start menu is replaced by the new Home screen, which includes pictures of live application. The user can return to regular desktop by choosing a "desktop" applications. Examples of applications in the home screen includes an application time, storefronts, investments, news, user personal page, and user of Windows Live Account. The new interface is designed primarily for the screen resolution of 16: 9, 1366 x 768 and larger screens capable of displaying two Windows applications that use 8 "Snap." 1024 × 768 screens can display a Windows application in full screen 8, 1024 × 600 screens can only use the traditional Windows desktop. Microsoft has confirmed that computers with mice and keyboards can also use Windows 8.
Microsoft also announced that Windows 8 will use the processor and the physical memory more efficiently, to make Windows work better.
Mike Delman, Microsoft's vice president of global marketing, hinted in an interview that Windows 8 would be the integration of Xbox Live, similar to your Windows 7.
Mike Angulo confirmed at Computex 2011 that would use Windows 8 OEM Activation 3.0 instead of Windows 7 OEM Activation 2.1 which will make it less prone to hacks.
