  • I actually really have to agree with you. However I wasn't so annoyed by the story, but the ease of the game did bug me. I was thinking with 3D graphics and an upgrade to the DS, they would have harder puzzles. Also i was hoping for more summons but I guess it was nice seeing the old ones. In short though, this game really only felt like nostalgia. Seeing old weapons, characters, and djinni was a nice flashback for me after what, 6 years since TLA came out? I just hope they make a sequel.

  • @blueBruSea I don't even know if I want another sequel if this is what it looks like. At this point I'll just hope Isaac makes for a good Super Smach Bros character!

  • @araithiel I get where you're coming from. Camelot took essentially 6+ year break making this new game. I just hope good honest reviews like yours are reaching their eyes and ears because they know its a pretty successful series and they left the ending really open ended like they've been doing. But if they make a sequel I'd much rather have it before the 30 year leap from DD and have Isaac and the gang back.

  • @blueBruSea I would take them even in their adult forms! they kicked butt in the opening part of the game and I want that again haha. Though I need an explanation into how all of their Djinn somehow got dispersed amongst the world again...

  • The story is my biggest problem with the game. After all the wait we get a glorified sidequest that doesn't offer any significant followup for the characters or key events in the last games. What I haven't seen a lot of people complain about, however, (SPOILERS) is the addition of light and dark psynergy. I find it horribly cliche and unwarranted. The original four element's power were explained properly as the basis for all matter in the world. Where do light and dark fit into this?

  • Totally agree with you review. I was really pissed they didn't show Piers, They where talking about him all the time, it felt like he was right around the corner.

    The story sucked big time.

  • @araithiel Anti-Slavery? Conspiracy?

  • i was disappointed too, you start with a silly quest.

get attacked every 5 steps. the main map doens't look very big.

they used GBA sounds for some actions and , which was nice in the previous versions on the GBA but not in the DS. (and why just some of them????)

most of the djinn's and attacks are direct copies from 1 and 2.

damnit i did not wait 7 years or more for this.

    nice review tho :).

  • It sounds like this game has the same problems as The Lost Age. The first Golden Sun was guilty of lacking direction and pretty much everything you criticized this one for, but to not as great a degree. With TLA, it got worse, and with this game, it seems to have gotten even worse. That's a shame.

  • Kraden pretty much knows who the main villain WAS but didn't want to say anything.

Why couldn't the original 8 have been playable as adults? The game would have made more sense than and you could have had their children as additional characters. Camelot(and Nintendo) had 6-7 years to make DD into a game with a good story. Hell, even the main 8 from the first two games banding together to stop Alex would have made for a better story.
