Horst Jankowski was a German-born, classically trained pianist who scored an instrumental hit in June of 1965 with his "Eine Schwarzwaldfahrt", translated into English as "A Walk In The Black Forest". The song peaked at #12 at a time when Motown and the British Music Invasion led by The Beatles dominated the charts.
utterly beautiful, great memories came flooding back en masse,,, thanks.

@chkjns - Always eager to "take a musical trip back in time", I will not only familiarize myself with Hollyridge Strings, but I will also certainly take you up on your invitation! Thank you for your kind words! Having been enchanted by "A Walk In The Black Forest" since childhood, imagine my thrill when I actually went "laufen" in "Schwarzenwald" back in 1975!

@MysticSojourner WoW!!! What a beautiful comment, one of the nicest I've seen in two years here! My channel is a 700 playlist compilation of a century of the best worldwide music. I've playlisted over 15,000 songs, but this is one of my top 100 favorites. Do you know Hollyridge Strings? I've got an 'appointment' to meet their creator/arranger/conductor in 3 weeks!!! I've got 112 playlists for every year since 1900 - come take a musical trip back in time. chuck

To shine so brightly in the combined backdrop of Motown and the British Invasion is tantamount to raking leaves in a gale force wind. This unique and remarkable accomplishment of Horst Jankowski is singular indeed! Thank you, Nocaro, for another one of your typically excellent postings.
