@pianoman1096 Well said! Boys choirs are a dying breed these days, and Philly is fortunate to have not just one, but TWO world-class groups. Philadelphians should be proud of the talent of the young people in their city (and its surroundings) and should enjoy the musical gifts that both choirs provide (**disclosure: I'm an alumnus of the PBC 1995-2000, and I love the PBC but I also have a ton of respect for KSB's directors Joe Fitzmartin and Steve Fisher, who were with the PBC while I was there)
Based on the number of zealous and polar-opposite viewpoints posted under this video, it is clear that Youtube is full of passionate KSB and PBCC parents with long-closed minds. Philly is blessed with two magnificent boychoirs, each of which has aspects that make it beautiful. I would encourage all of the couch-critics out there to actually attend a concert or two (both organizations could certainly use asses in the seats) and stop making sweeping generalizations based on low quality videos.
The keystone state boys choir has horrible tone bad blend and basically just mediocre. Trust me I have been to one of their performances and the Philadelphia boys choir sounds better by far. That's just my opinion, though
I really don't understand the big debate in Philadelphia about which is the better choir, KSB or PBC, like is it really that close? Listen to this! These are 8 and 10 year olds singing more sophisticated music, more dynamic music at a real professional grade, whereas KSB has high school students who can't even come close to this standard! Its unbelievable bravo!
