The fall migration of the Ruby-throated Hummingbird is just starting. First sightings were around the first of August in Eastern Nebraska and should be in full swing by mid to late August. If you haven't done so yet, get those feeders out and start feeding our feathered little friends!

Be sure not to purchase or use any nectar that has red dye in it... we want our Hummingbirds to be healthy and happy!!!

Nectar Recipe: 4 cups water to 1 cup pure cane sugar

Bring water to a boil...add sugar and boil for two minutes. Let cool. Refrigerate remaining nectar.

All clips shot with a Panasonic AG-HMC150 at 720p 60fps and edited in Sony Vegas Pro 10

  • Man are those little birds cool or what. We humans can only stare in amazement at the beauty of nature and what God has created.

  • fantastic! nice camera upgrade! :O

  • Excellent video! I also notice a better camera! I do hope to see that in action with the future airplane vids :)

  • Gorgeous, beautiful video!!! It's in one of my play lists.

Funny though, I have never seen a hummingbird around here, and I'm just off to your southwest. I might have to try to lure them in!
