NOTE: This isn't the real fps, because the recording program(fraps) take performance.

What I don't get is how I have basically the same spec with a better CPU and motherboard, and faster RAM, with the same in game settings but it doesn't look that smooth.

I love the hd5770 iive been playing the latest games on max settings, but I use 1024x768 resolution as it is my monitors native reolution. Best value for money :)
