Sony took the wraps off two new Cybershot digitial cameras at CES 2010 that are the world's first compact digital still cameras to include full HD 1920X1080 60i Advanced Video Codec High Definition AVCHD video capability. They are also the worlds smallest and thinest AVCHD capable cameras. These are the first Cybershot cameras with High Dynamic Range (HDR) for managing diificult lighting. With Sony's Exmor R CMOS sensor technology, these cameras provide excellent low light performance, 10fps burst shooting and the new Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature.

  • Is the DSC-TX7 compatible with the new Macbook Pro?

  • Of course, all Sony Cybershots are compatible with Mac's.

  • When is the release date?

Also, can the DSC-HX5V use zoom, while recording?

  • The camera will be released in early March, and yes you can zoom while recording.

  • Is that as good a lens as the Carl Zeiss lens?

  • The Sony G lens is optimized for Sony Cybershot cameras using the Exmor R CMOS sensor. It was designed specifically to take advantage of the low light shooting capabilities of the Exmor CMOS sensor.
