Two spacecraft meeting in orbit require exact launch times and careful maneuvering. Gemini capsules 6 and 7 came within 30 centimeters of each other on Dec. 15, 1965. Frank Borman and James Lovell spent more than 13 days onboard Gemini 7, to set a record for long-duration flight.

  • why faking it? In 1960's and 70's was harder to fake than to accomplish.

  • Just to name a few. But then I suppose ALL of these newspapers and magazines published pictures of the Apollo mission either KNOWING they were fake OR not as intelligent as YOU to figure out they were fake, right?

  • @Deke101 It's just that I suddenly caught on to the fact that you were just being sarcastic.

  • @boomshanka Come on, boomer. Why did you remove your comment? It was ever so witty and insightful and gave such strong credence to your intellectual capacity.

  • @SteelBeWithYou NASA has PLENTY of drive and ambition. What NASA does not have is funding from our inept government.

  • What this video really doesn't show is how small these capsules really were.

You could just get two guys inside, and that was about it.

They must have gone through some incredible testing to find guys who could just stayed in such a confined space without going nuts.
