A main problem with "scriptura sola" is that there is no such thing: the books were written by members of the community for the members, edited, revised, selected by members of the community; without the community, no agreed upon selection. Consider all the apocryphal, pseudopigraphical, and other texts still revered but NOT part of scripture (letter of Polycarp & Irenaeus for example); the Bible never existed by itself, it was a product of a community
I think that a religion or lack of on should produce good feelings and a better/nicer person. It certainly should not make the person feel worse or make him a meaner/greedier person. However, that a religion makes positive changes in a person or society does not prove that everything about it is historically and scientifically vaid fact.
