This video begins by modelling the basic radiation dynamics of planet Earth. Expanding the concept further it briefly explores the essential interactions of an atmosphere-Earth model and the difficulties associated with modelling complex dynamic systems. Evolving the model into a functional rather than a representative model and grouping components according to their dynamic function, the fate of solar radiation is again explored.
The video then raises the possibility of using this model to identify possible means of addressing climate change by encouraging cloud formation through the updraft generated by solar chimneys.
