  • ah, this is one of those songs which are so impossible to cover, because the origional is so amazing. I am however please to know that they love this song also

  • @izzy8bella I think they did the song justice =]

  • holy fuck, I was quite upset when I found out this was a cover >_>

Because this is such an amazing song, I was like, 'Woah, these lyrics fucking rock.' (:

  • They covered it really well though =] and I'm glad they did...

Although would have been better if it was their own... and yeah the lyrics are good

  • Wow, I think this is better than the original O.O . Really good.

  • @bashpr0mpt woah man, clam down. i don't see why you're so angry. again, calm down.

  • This is really good, but I might as well listen to the original.... It's just about the same :|

  • @AggieXP You're an idiot. Firstly because you didn't realise this was a cover when it has featured in several hundred advertising campaigns and is the introduction to House, and was a promo theme for Assassins Creed. Secondly, the lyrics aren't actually proper lyrics, Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins uses words to make noise, not to convey meaning, she sings as though the human voice is an instrument to add to the melody and ad libs or randomly babbles to make sound. Again, you're an idiot.

  • Amazing cover. Matthew Wright has an amazing voice. He pulls it off!

  • @izzy8bella absolutely, this song just cannot be covered... i heard so many covers of this, and nothing comes close to the original.

  • This is pretty good; not the best version I've heard. But a decent effort. The original is still the best; and Jose Gonzalez does the 2nd best in my opinion; but this would be in my Top 5 for best versions; just above Elbow and Newton Faulkner.

  • agree to dis agree my good sir ^__^

  • i don't agree with you. i feel that the "meaning" is up to the individual, hence the term "interpretation" in my original post. some people feel the song is about abortion; let's suppose that's what the writers meant. one could argue then, that the original is about the sadness and loss. But another version, maybe with some heavy guitars or drums, could suggest anger; and another version, say, with a banjo, could be sarcastic. that's the beauty of music: there's no one way to listen to it.
