"Uh, excuse me young lady, where are you going?" Mrs. Carter exclaimed.
"I promised Id baby sit for the Knight's..." Demi pointed across the street.
"OK."
Demi soon left and walked across the street and knocked on the door.
"Oh, hi Demi. Thanks for sitting." Mrs. Knight smiled. She was dressed fancy for a night out.
"No problem..." Demi shook her head.
"OK, um... Andy and Grace are playing in the basement, and Claire is sleeping. She should sleep through the night, she wasnt feeling good today..."
"OK, I can handle it."
"Emergency numbers are on the fridge..."
"OK. I got it, now go. Ive got everything under control." Demi nudged.
"OK, Thanks again." Mrs. Knight scurried off and Demi was left with the kids.
"NO, you is the king, and- am da queen!" Grace explained, pointing to herself when she said queen.
"Grace? Andy?" Demi hollered coming down the stairs.
"Demi!!!" they both screamed, running to hug her.
"How are my little guys doing?"
"Im, Im good..." Andy looked up at Demi and smiled.
"Me too! But Claire is sick..." Grace added.
"She is?" Demi questioned.
"Yeah..." Grace squirmed.
"Well, we'll take care of her right?" Demi patted Graces back.
"Right!" Andy and Grace said.
"OK, lets go upstairs..." Demi picked up both Andy and Grace and carried them upstairs to the kitchen. She sat them down at the table. "So have you had dinner?"
"No." Andy answered.
"What would you like?"
"I want... Kid Cusine!" Andy yelled.
"Me too!" Grace demanded.
"OK, Kid Cuisine it is." Demi smiled. She got the frozen dinners out and stuck them in the microwave. Then her phone rang. "Hello?"
"Hey, Whatcha doin?"
"Im making dinner for two three year olds..."
"Huh?"
"Im babysitting Joe..."
"Oh. So now would be a bad time to ask you if you wanted to go out tonight..."
Demi tucked the phone between her shoulder and cheek, and brought the meals over to the kids. "Uh...Yeah..."
"Who is it?" Grace stood on her chair.
Demi signaled them to shh, "Its my boyfriend."
And the questions start flying. "Whos Joe?" "Can I talk to him?" "Is Joe nice?"
Demi couldnt help but laugh.
"Whats so funny?" Joe asked. Chuckling himself.
"Oh, its the kids Im sitting. Andy and Grace. Say Hi!"
"Hi Grace. Hi Andy."
"Hi, hi Joe, I have a duck named Joe..." Grace yelled.
"Joe, Joe... Demi is a good girl, so you better be nice to her!" Andy demanded.
Demi and Joe were both snickering. "Arent they adorable?"
"Dont worry guys, I really like Demi, and I would never hurt her." Joe reassured.
"OK, I'll talk to you later... Bye!"
"Bye Joe!" Andy and Grace screamed.
"Bye!" Joe yelled back.
After dinner, Demi suggested they play a game. They went outside and played in the driveway for a while. Incase Claire woke up, Demi took the baby monitor out with her. After, Andy, Grace, and Demi decided to watch Finding Nemo. An hour or so into the movie, Grace fell asleep on Demi's shoulder, and it was just Andy and Demi who were up. But not for long, Claire woke up and was crying. Demi picked Grace up and carried her to her room, then went to address Claire. "Shh, Shh... Claire... it's OK..." Demi picked her up and rocked her, but it didnt work. "Hmm, you have a clean diaper.. What's wrong?" Demi brought Claire downstairs and gave her a bottle filled with water. Demi sat in the recliner across from the couch, and rocked Claire, until she finally faded back to sleep. Andy shifted over to Demi to help her with Claire. While she sucked on her bottle, Andy rubbed her bald head. Shortly after the Movie ended, Mrs. Knight came home.
"Hey..." She put her hand on Demis shoulder.
"Hi. Uh, Grace fell asleep watching the movie so I tucked her into bed already. Claire started crying so I brought her out, gave her a bottle of water, and rocked her to sleep. Andy..." Demi nodded toward Andy. He was asleep on the couch.
"Thank you so much Demi." Mrs. Knight paid her and took Andy to his room. Demi followed and put Claire back in her crib. She tip-toed out and quietly walked home.
