June 21, 2008: Witness RBMN 4-6-2 travel the whole trip from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe and back, hitting over 9 different locations, including 425 shattering through the towns and country land of Port Clinton, New Ringgold, Tamaqua (various), Hometown, Nesqeuhoning, Jim Thorpe, Lake Hauto, and Molino! Enjoy the sights and sounds! The ground really shakes when 425 thunders by, and I never heard a better 6 chime! I'm willing to bet every railfan in a 300 mile radius showed up to witness this great event, ENJOY!

  • I'm impressed Oozy, you nailed some great locations, and you tried to stay on the right side of the sunlight at all times! Haha.

Very crisp quality, also... Just out of curiousity, what type of camera were you using?

  • Canon SX100 IS. It has some flaws if you hadn't noticed, the dang lense shakes when heavy equipment passes, I really don't have this problem too much, I think it just happened because I was standing pretty darn close and zoomed a tad. I have to find a way to work that out. Ah well, I still satisfied with the shots. And yeah, the sun remained good most of the day. Thanks for the comment!

  • Oh, is it a photo camera using a video feature? If so it's one of the best I've seen.

  • Yes, a Canon powershot 8 mega pixel. It's a good trainer camera for photos and videos, although, it takes some EXCELLENT quality videos if you know what you're doing and you have great light. I'm impressed by this camera, though I do want to upgrade in the near future. If you know someone that wants to start taking videos, I'd recommend a camera like this for them to start. Since it has a memory card slide in, I can get shots from the camera to the computer with the snap of a finger.

  • On Mondays and Tuesdays they always use a diesel locomotive for the scranton limited train rides.

  • Enjoyed the video.Went to Steamtown years ago and they stuck a diesel engine on the front. What a dissapointment.Never went back.

  • My video camera can be seen hanging out the vestibule of car 302 at 1:52 (Tamaqua), 4:28 (Nesquehoning) and you can see my head out leaning out the vestibule window at 7:13.
