Fragile X is the leading cause of inherited mental disability and the leading known cause of autism.

"Living with Fragile X" explains what fragile X is and how it is passed, exposes the day-to-day challenges faced by those who have fragile X, and reveals the frustrations of parents and their fears for what the future holds.

  • My son was diagnosed w/FX 1 1/2 years ago. He was almost 18 before I had him tested. He was diagnosed w/Autism at age 9. I had no idea FX ran in our family until my cousin's child was genetically tested positive. TODAY is Ntl. Fragile X Awareness Day. It is already evening and they have only raised $685 toward today's goal of $20,000. It is pitiful how the media finds this not news-worthly enough to do a story on it. I HAVE SEEN THIS ENTIRE PROGRAM & it is great and worth purchasing!!!

  • My two boys have Fragile x and I cried when I heard the mother discussing her regrets and hoping for forgiveness for the way she had thought and felt about her son. I have also felt this way and thank her for her honesty. My Sons are beautiful just the way they are and have given a joy to my life I could never have imagined, but I had to go through a process to see the beauty in front of me. Thanks, I look forward to seeing the whole video.

  • I just cried... My cousin has Fragile X. He is only 6 years old. He lives in a world that I may never understand but I LOVE him SO MUCH. I think he is perfect just the way he is!

  • @kirkferentzrocks Sofedupwithgoofs asks a very real question that causes me much anxiety. My daughter and son have fragile X and I wonder about when they grow up and meet someone they love. I would love grandchildren but the real risk is grand kids with retarded development that comes with fragile X syndrome.

  • @sofedupwithgoofs That's and IGNORANT and UNBELIEVABLE question to ask. You are extremely disrespectful.

  • We just learned about this in medical school. this video was EXTREMELY moving. Thank you.

  • My brother with fragile x just turned 6. He's such a funny little guy! He loves waiting for the garbage truck and gets excited when it pulls up to the house. One day when he was still only 5, my dad thought Zack was missing, and after searching the house he rushed outside to find that Zack was already down the street, pulling each empty garbage bin back to the top of the driveway of its respective house.

We quickly added a lock on the door above Zack's reach:)

  • The boy is my brother i love him so much and i hope this movie opens peoples eyes about autism.

  • This makes me cry everytime I watched it. I have a brother with Fragile X (13 years old), and I just love him for who he is... It was just a touching video.

  • i got to summit high school in new jersey. im doing a project on Fragile X as i comment on this video. This is one of the saddest things i have ever seen. I had no idea there was such a thing called fragile x. i feel horrible for the kids.

  • my aunt believes her son has fragile x disorder. will medicaid cover testing for fragile x? we're really lost.
