  • How hard was it to get that 1UZFE in there? Did it bolt onto the stock motor mounts? How much approximately did it cost for the swap? (engine, installation, parts etc)

  • It wasn't that hard really, I made the brackets to suit the original mounts and moved the whole driveline back about 35mm. all up the conversion cost me about $3600

  • please tell me that will work on my 90 4runner

  • of course it will mate, mines a 95 so you shouldn't have any drama's

  • is it 4x4?

  • Yes it is 4x4, it still has the original r150f manual gearbox and transfercase. I used a dellow automotive bellhousing kit.

  • Now its an 8runner

  • @BrianDewy dude my 93 surf has a 3.8 commodore v6 ecotec conversion and i get just 300k out of 65litres.... however i run 35/12.5/15tyres 6 inch lift.. all steell bullbar towbar huge steelside stepps heavy winch roof carrier... basicall a lot more weight.. if i took off all my accesories and put stock tyres id get 400k form a tank

  • Is the torque good? Low down?

  • @geejay79 Gidday mate just reviewing conversions to V8 1 UZ set-up and thrashing about the idea of the converting mine. No one can be honest and tell me about the fuel economy. Its claimed that its better than the V6. I currently get 400k from 60l what were you getting out of the V8. Was it similar or less. I have talked to a guy who said his only got about 350K from his V8 and the conversion was done professionally running a 5 speed manual box in it.

    350K from 65litres is terrible

  • @ieberhart Only problem with the 90 model is that the battery tray and the air intake are on the opposite sides to the 95-96 model 4runner, You'll have to swap them over and drop the steering dampner to fit it properly. theres lots of forums on outerlimits and others that explain the process properly.

  • nice u need to put a vid of it on

  • @n00bcak35 lol my 96 2.7 does a good burnout.

  • YOu look a little stunned!

  • That is nasty man, nice job!!!
