" In the mid 80's, four kids barely out of school directed Tony de Peltrie, a computer-animated short that took the animation world by storm and revolutionized the film industry. Produced by Pierre Lachapelle, and directed by Lachapelle, Philippe Bergeron, Pierre Robidoux and Daniel Langlois, Tony de Peltrie premiered as the closing film of Siggraph'85 - the largest computer animation festival in the world. As the lights dimmed, and Tony's wonderfully sad eyes first appeared on the screen, the stunned audience fell silent. They were witnessing history. For the first time, a computer-animated human character was expressing emotions."

  • @papasuga ..Oh MY GOSH! Thank you so, so much. I will be looking for this group now-who knows if I'll ever find them-but at least I now know-Thank You!!! XD

  • @creatornat I have the original tape. The group is apparently named 'At First Glance'. I am trying to find more...ALERT THE INTERWEBZ!

  • This has a real 'train wreck', kind of watchability. The song at the end, unfortunately, has no additional info on google, though I think it's great.

  • Whats the song at the end?

  • Tony de Peltrie est un monument de l'histoire de l'animation numérique et j'ignorait tout sur ce film ! Il faut que je me le trouve en entier !

Tony de Peltrie is a monument of CG animation'history and I didn't know anything about it !

I have to find it in complete version !

  • a jabbawockee

  • Why isn't the entire thing in here? I remember this in animation class about a year ago. Of course, all of my classmates were talking too much that I couldn't hear the dialogue. All I remember is the great expressions, a bit of the jazzy music and the ending when he dies by turning to stone.

  • I remember seeing this one on a VHS cassette on computer animation. Funny to watch, but kind of creepy as well.

  • I have some of this from the Computer Animation Magiv VHS tape. Man I wish I could see it all it's so great in it's music and story telling. Thanks for posting this!

  • robidoux is my last name
