***Note: It's best if you select the playlist at the top right titled "BNSF Trains on the Red Rock Sub 11/22/2011", and make sure autoplay is turned ON, as this is a two-part video series which I could not fit in one video, and the videos are meant to be viewed together.***

Today was a big day of railfanning for me along the BNSF Railway Red Rock Subdivision (part of the BNSF's Augusta, KS to Ft Worth, TX rail corridor) as I drove south to Texas for Thanksgiving. This video is Part I of II of an afternoon's worth of railfanning the line, which I could not fit into one video per YouTube's 15 minute rule, so be sure to check out the "Part II" video after this to see the full sequence of train footage I shot along this line today (you won't want to miss it).

Part I of the day's railfanning all takes place in Noble, Oklahoma at Chesnut St (Milepost 408.04). I arrived in Noble to find a northbound intermodal train sitting in the siding. A quick check of the southbound block signal at the north end of NSS Noble revealed a high green over red, so there was no question a southbound was on the way, and I decided to stick around. A southbound priority intermodal finally arrived at 1:51 PM, with three Pumpkin leaders running "elephant style". (This would not be the last I would see of this train - see Part II). When the northbound in the siding did not budge after this train had passed, I knew another southbound was on the way, and at 2:12 PM a second priority southbound train - this one a manifest - blew through with an HI Pumpkin leader. The northbound intermodal at last received the highball after this second train had cleared, and pulled out of NSS Noble at 2:17 PM. A nice start to what turned out to be a very good day of train spotting. Be sure to see Part II here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oh-Hwyld1Q
